sorry is more than a word.

inspired by colourful vibrant herero patterns and reminding us of the past, this patchwork flag is made of herero fabric and a german cut up silk safari skirt to say sorry in herero (ndjiisira) and in german (entschuldigung). at the time it was made, the herero and nama had never received an official apology, let alone reparation, for the first genocide of the 20^th century in the namibian desert.
